| Abstract: | In this research article, a tapered microstrip feed rectangular patch multiband antenna is presented. Antenna also consists of rectangular ground plane. Proposed antenna is simulated on FR4 substrate with electrical properties includes permittivity 4.4 and loss tangent 0.002. Patch consists of two stubs which are responsible for UMTS and WiMAX resonating frequencies. A etched slot on the patch results in WLAN band leading to tri-band operation of antenna. Simulated antenna is characterized in terms of near and far filed region results. Antenna offers good radiation pattern in principal planes with maximum gain of 4.63dBi and efficiency of 89% in operating bands. |
