|Title:||Effect of machining parameters and mql parameter on material removal rate in milling of aluminium alloy|
S N ratio
|Publisher:||Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering|
|Abstract:||In the current work, Taguchi technique is applied on aluminium alloy (Al-6061) during face milling to optimize the machining parameters and minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) parameter for increasing the material removal rate (MRR). The MQL method is applied during face milling of Al-6061using coated carbide inserts. Coolant flow rate (CFR), cutting velocity, feed per revolution, and depth of cut are selected as input parameters. Taguchi L9 (34) orthogonal array is chosen for four input parameters with three levels for experimentation. Signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio is calculated based on larger the better for each experiment. Analysis of means is used to evaluate the optimum settings of input parameters. Significance and contribution of each input parameter is evaluated by using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results of ANOVA show that depth of cut has a major contribution of 80.287% on material removal rate.|
