Abstract: Blockchain is set to disrupt supply chain activities. Research has barely begun to assess its effects on various inter-organizational interactions and on the end-consumer. This paper explores the lack of trust that consumers of organic products have on its supply chain, why it is important to reduce that trust gap and how blockchain is likely to help in embedding trust in it. Special emphasis has been placed on roles of smart-contracts and internet-of-things in blockchain based solutions.
